[2.0] Tips for Hosting your Videos

In order to add videos to your quizzes in bucket 2.0, they should be hosted in a video platform first, such as YouTube, Vimeo, etc. Depending on the platform, bucket will ask for the video ID or embed code. 



IMPORTANT:

  1. bucket.io allows you to add videos that are hosted in Vimeo, YouTube, Wistia or any other platform that provides an embed code. 


Information:


​By definition, an embed code provides a short code usually in HTML language for users to copy and paste into a website.


YouTube


YouTube will provide a URL link for your videos. Bucket.io 2.0 will ask for the video ID. 

The ID for a YouTube video is the character string found at the end of the link. For example, for https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yWdUCW6uaxE, the video ID is yWdUCW6uaxE.

  2. Make sure you update the privacy settings of your video to control where your video can appear and who can watch it.



Vimeo

Vimeo will provide a URL link for your videos. bucket.io 2.0 will ask for the video ID. 
For Vimeo, the ID is after the forward slash. For example, for https://vimeo.com/338325006, the ID is 338325006.

  1. Make sure you update the privacy settings of your video to control where your video can appear and who can watch it.


Wistia

Wistia will allow you to get an embed code. For instructions on how to get an embed code click on the following link: https://wistia.com/support/embed-and-share/video-on-your-website
