When aligning teeth scans or CBCT scans, there are sample files included with the app.
But when you want to use your own scans that a face model will align to, you need to make those files available on the iPad/iPhone by either copying them directing on to the device or accessing those files from selected cloud services like Dropbox or iCloud.
To load PLY files, make sure the files are text-encoded and not binary-encoded. We only support text-encoded PLY files. To convert a binary-encoded PLY file into text-encoded, you can open the file in MeshLab, click File then click Export Mesh As...give it a file name and then in the next dialog that appears, UNCHECK binary-encoded. Keep color checked if that is checked.
Attached is diagram with screen shots for how to set up cloud service access in your iPad and then how to access those files in the Bellus3D Dental Pro app.
January 22, 2020 Update: As of Dental Pro version 1.8.2, you can now zip STL or PLY files, put them on the cloud service of your choosing, and import them into Dental Pro when creating a Workspace. Use the process below but you can now use files that are in a zip package. This helps for PLY files that have an associated jpeg for texture. It also now allows you to use Google Drive to store and select zip files.
