We cannot believe the time has already come for us to issue our monthly update. For all of us here at Blok Party, the summer months have flown by!

In our last update, our CEO revisited the humble beginnings of TapTop, which started as a project out of Prizm Labs in 2015, and provided an update on how the dedicated team here at Blok Party has continued to keep the project alive and progressing against the odds. Founded just two short years ago, Blok Party took on all the assets of Prizm Labs which included the engineering, IP as well as anything related to the TapTop project.

Speaking of our team, for our monthly update, we wanted to highlight one of the newest additions to Blok Party and fill you in a little on what they have been working on.

Without further adieu, we’re thrilled to introduce you to Todd Porter, the newly appointed vice president of content studio for Blok Party! Todd has been deeply entrenched within game development for over two decades and has already begun implementing initiatives and programs designed to develop new and exciting games here at Blok Party as well as revamp some of our existing content.

A Global Game Industry icon, Todd has been involved with some of the largest selling titles in the history of the gaming market and is best known for his work with Origin Systems on both Wing Commander and the Ultima series as well as SSI’s Dungeon and Dragon series. Co-founder of Ion Storm with industry legends John Romera, Tom Hall and Jerry O’Flaherty, Todd secured the gaming contract and licensing deal to develop a number of games for Eidos Interactive. Recently, Todd has served as the founder head of development for Advanced Imagination as well as the founder and senior game developer for CornBit Games.

As VP Studio Content, Todd is already hard at work optimizing and enhancing existing games such as Catan, Ticket to Ride, and Machi Koro, and developing some new games (including more SmartPiece-enabled games!) to add to the library later this year. Additionally, the team is hard at work creating a universal seating system as well as a new and improved companion app for your smartphone that’ll both serve as your “hidden hand” for certain games and a portal to your account even when you’re away from your console.

We’re thrilled to have him on our team and wanted to introduce him and the amazing work he’ll be doing to those of you who have been following along with our monthly updates.  And, as always, if you have any questions about fulfillment or shipping dates, feel free to check out our Knowledge Base for all the most up-to-date information.
