Powering up is when you increase your stake on the Smoke blockchain. If you have more stake, your upsmoke will be of a larger value and your witness vote will be more influential.

If you have a larger stake, you can also earn more of the constant 10% interest rate on the SMoke blockchain, which is distributed based on the staked (powered up) amount of SMOKE on the blockchain.

Powering up requires liquid SMOKE.
