Knowledge base 131 - Morpho Manager 14.6.x Reinstallation - How to select the database type

When installing MorphoManager Server for the first time you are presented with a screen called Usage requirements  which  defines the type of database used - "Microsoft SQL Server Compact Edition 4.0" or "Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express or greater" to be used by MorphoManager.

If you make a mistake on installation and take the default Microsoft SQL Server Compact Edition 4.0  - even if you uninstall MorphoManager Server and Client from the machine and try to reinstall then the Usage requirements screen will not appear again  - and the installer will retrieve the original value selected for the database type and again install that.

To resolve this  - a registry key must be removed.
Always ensure that you have a current backup prior to any work in the registry.

Using Registry Editor (Regedit) search for
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Morpho\
and there will be a MorphoManager key (looks like a folder).

delete the MorphoManager key. Close the registry editor and reinstall MorphoManager server and client.
The Usage requirements screen will appear when reinstalling.
