Knowledge base 97 : MorphoManager with Sigma Multi – Mifare CSN 34 Bit (IA-MFC) or Biometrics

It is possible in MorphoManager to set up the MA Sigma Series readers in a Biometric or Mifare CSN mode. This bulletin will explain how to configure the system to where a user can present a card or their biometric under the same profile; and how to configure the system so that someone has an over-ride credential where he or she is unable to use their Biometric.

This is for use with 4Byte Mifare cards in Standalone mode or with an iNet ACU Connection.

1. In MorphoManager go to Administration > Wiegand Profile and either use the attached wiegand format from this bottom of this guide (then skip to step 7) or Add a new Wiegand profile.

2. To Add the profile type the Name for the Format e.g. “Controlsoft Mifare 34 Bit”, select the Bit Length to 34 and click Next.

3. Click Add and Select Parity. Name this Even Parity, select “Mode” to be “Even”. Basis Bits should be “1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16”. Click Next.

4. Click Add, select User. Name this “Card Number”. Tick Allow Random and Length should be “32”. Click Next when complete.

5. Click Add, Select Parity, Name this Odd Parity, select “Mode” as Odd, and Basis Bits as “17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32”. Click Next

6. Click Finish when complete.

7. Go to Administration > Biometric Device Profile and add a new Device Profile. Name the Profile, “Mifare CSN or Biometrics”. Keep the Configuration Mode as Express and press Next.

8. Select “Wiegand Profile” and choose the Wiegand profile you have created i.e.“Controlsoft Mifare 34 Bit”. Click Next

9. Under Multi-Factor Mode, select “Custom”. Check “Biometrics” and “Mifare Classic”. Click Next.

10. Under Access Control Mode Settings, choose “Standalone” if you are using the reader as a Single Door Controller, or Integrated if you are using it alongside an Access Control Unit.

11. Click Next until you see the 'Custom parameters' section.

12. Click Add and use the below parameters -

13. In Biometric Device, create a reader and use the new Biometric Device Profile. 


Card or Biometric Under a Single User Profile
1. Go to Administration > User Authentication Mode, and click Add. Give the Authentication Mode a name, in this example I have called mine “Mifare CSN Or Bio”. Click Next Once complete.
2. Under MA Sigma, MA Sigma Lite, MA Sigma Lite+, MorphoWave Mode, select “Enabled”. Tick “Download Identifier to Device”. For template Location select “Downloaded to Device”. Tick “Allow Start by Biometric” and “Allow Start by Contactless Card”. Click Finish once complete.

3. Click Administration > User Policy. Add a new User Policy and give it a name. Under Wiegand Profile select “Controlsoft Mifare 34 Bit”. For User Authentication Mode select the User Authentication mode you have set up. Click Next, under “Finger Biometric Enrollment Minimum Fingers” select None. Click finish once complete.

5. This is now ready to be set up along side the Identity Access system using Biobridge. This will mean the user can either use their card or their biometrics.

Card Only Profile
1. Click on User Authentication Mode, and click Add. Give the Authentication Mode a name, in this example, I have called mine “Mifare CSN Only”. Click Next Once complete.

2. Under MA Sigma, MA Sigma Lite, MA Sigma Lite+, MorphoWave Mode, select “Enabled”. Tick “Download Identifier to Device”. Tick “Allow Start by Biometric” and “Allow Start by Contactless Card”. Click Finish once complete. 

3. Click Administration > User Policy. Add a new User Policy and give it a name. Under Wiegand Profile select “Controlsoft Mifare 34 Bit”. For User Authentication Mode select the User Authentication mode you have set up. Under “Finger Biometric Enrollment Minimum Fingers” select None. Click finish once complete.

4. This is now ready to be set up alongside the Identity Access system using Biobridge. This will mean the user can either use their card or their biometrics.
