*Overview-Core Payroll Styles

There are three styles of entering payroll data. All employees can be entered into 1 screen or multiple screens. All hourly/salary can be entered into hourly or salary screen.

Core Payroll
  1. Salary Screen
    1. Record an employee  salary and benefits.
    2. Assume working 100% FTE by default
    3. Use the lower half of the screen and specify FTE % by month to track
      1. late starts, early terminations, % of effort, headcounts or split allocation across multiple departments or salary codes
  1. Hourly
    1. When you want to track more details specify the # of hours worked PPD for straight time and overtime
      1. PPD is custom defined and could be months, 24 PPD, 26 PPD or 52 weeks in a year
  1. Shift Scheduling
    1. Popular with healthcare & hospitality
    2. Ability to enter 24/7 shifts with night & weekend shift differentials
    3. Simplified data entry styles
      1. # of weekdays vs weekend days worked
      2. Checkbox per 7 days per week
      3. # of hours per 7 days per week
      4. Module will generate an accurate to the day, week, or month budget data to be able to compare to weekly actuals
Payroll

You do not need to be a GP customer or use GP payroll to budget in Dynamic Budgets. Most customers use 3rd party payroll processors (ADP, Ceridian, Paylocity, etc).
  1. Simply extract your data to Excel. Drop the terminating employees
  2. Add some placeholders for new hires, process dept transfers, job title changes or promotions & then copy/paste into Dynamic Budgets
  3. Note: We don't have direct import utility from the payroll processors. We find it easier to allow you to make modifications in excel then Copy/Paste into DB.
Payroll Setups
  1. Expense Definitions (These are tax, benefit, rates, options & calculation types)
  2. Employee Roster (Employee ID, name, home dept & other option reporting information)
  3. Payroll Calendars
    1. Salary - (# of PPD per mo or # of working days per month if you accrue at month end)
    2. Hourly - Specified # of PPD (12 mos, 24 PPD, 26 PPD, 52 weeks)
    3. 1 or both could be simultaneously
Payroll Reports
  1. Payroll Summary Report (Annualized totals per employee, dept, job title, supervisor, etc)
  2. Preview details from data entry screens (line-item details by month)
  3. Other misc reports for invalid accounts, FTE summaries, etc
