4 Styles of Allocations:
  1. Source is a single or multiple budgeted departments
  2. Source is a selection of budgeted accounts
  3. In the first 2 styles above, you are reallocating funds budgeted in the program.  In this third style, we directly enter budget amounts with or without line-item details and directly allocated the amounts to destination accounts
  4. A massive 1 to 1 spreadsheet like interface.  In the first 3 styles, the receiving account is hit with a single lump sum expense for the allocation. This 4th style of allocation allows the user to know their explicitly receiving x% of a source account value

The first 3 types of allocations can be setup as fixed allocations if you already know what % you will assign to each distribution account.

How do you know what % to use?

If the % are determined by a financial evaluation such as % of total payroll or % of total sales or a statistical value such as headcount or square foot, you can create a variable style allocation to have the program automatically calculate and refresh.
