How you set up folder authorizaiton depends on the forms of assessment you are giving in Edcite Schools. In general, this breaks down into three categories, though many customers use multiple categories together.  See below for some suggestions on how to set up folders and authorize teachers.

  1. District Distributed / Scheduled Common Assessments
  2. Teacher Assigned / Scheduled Common Assessments
  3. Teacher Formative Assessments (non-common)

1) District Distributed Common Assessments
  1. Folder Structure Recommended - A mix of grade and subject that suits the needs of the team who will be building the content
  2. Who to authorize for folders? Only the content creators who will be building or finding assessments for your district. Teachers will get access when the assessments are scheduled for their classes without needing authorization.

2) Teacher Assigned Common Assessments
  1. Folder Structure Recommended - Subfolders should reach the level that teachers are collaborating at (subject, grade level, course) to so that teachers can share common assessments that are easy to find and use.  Or, let teachers decide by setting up large shared folders and allow teachers to create their own subfolders.
  2. Who to authorize for folders? Only the content creators who will be building or finding assessments for your district. Teachers will get access when the assessments are scheduled for their classes without needing authorization.
3) Teacher Formative
  1. Folder Structure Recommended - Depends on how much collaboration is wanted. Quickest is to setup a large shared folder and let teachers create the subfolders.
  2. Who to authorize for folders? Only the content creators who will be building or finding assessments for your district. Teachers will get access when the assessments are scheduled for their classes without needing authorization.

Mixed Case - District does interims using district distributed common assessments and unit tests / quizzes as teacher assigned common assessments.
  1. Two sets of root folders - one for district content creators making interims and one for teachers to collaborate in.
