Grade Student Work

How to Grade Student Work

1. Click on Assignments and then select My Assignments.

2. Find the assignment you would like to grade. Click the three dots next to it and select "Grade".



3. You can grade by student, by question, or grade using the Grid View by switching tabs. For information on grading using the Grid View, click here.



4. Click the "Open All" button to open all of the student responses at one time.



5. Sort student responses by Student Name, Status, Score, Time Spent, or Date Submitted by clicking the arrows beside each column.



6. Select the class or student group you'd like to view by clicking the appropriate drop-down menu.  Print results by clicking the "Print" button. Export the results by click the "CSV" button. Click "Grading Tips" for more help on grading.



7. Click the (+) sign to see each student’s work.  You can move from question to question by clicking the question number.



8. In this window,  you will see student responses for each question. For each student, you have several options:
  1. Teacher-graded responses: If it is a teacher-graded response, teachers will be able to add the number of points students earned in the Points box next to the question part. Note: teacher-graded responses are highlighted in yellow. For more information on scoring teacher-graded questions, click here.
  2. Remarks: Click the "Add Remarks" button to add your own personal comments.
  3. Show question/response: Click the "Show Question/Response" to see the question with its response in a separate window.
  4. Student report: Click the arrow on the right to see the entire Student Report.
  5. Bonus Points: To add Bonus Points, change the number in the text box beside Bonus and click the Regrade button.
  6. Annotate: You can leave annotations for students to see in their responses by clicking the "Annotate" button.
