Note: You can find instructions on how to set answers in the blue box. If you'd prefer, you can choose to hide the instructions from your view.

5. There are two "modes" to toggle between when creating: Formatting Mode and Answer Mode.
  1. Choose Formatting Mode to add text and to format the text in the answer area.
  2. Choose Answer Mode to add numeric answer(s) you want your students to enter. You can use the math keypad provided or use your computer's keyboard to type. Note: You can add text in Answer Mode, but it is recommended that you use Formatting Mode when adding text.

6. You can edit the settings of your Math Keypad (Multiple Answers) question by clicking on the Settings Gear. You can select between an Elementary, Middle School, or High School keypad. You can checkbox Extended Keypad to allow for more math function options in the answer box. You can also choose to make your question teacher-graded.

7. Once you've set your answer(s), you can choose how you would like it/them to be scored. The letter(s) that appear(s) in the scoring settings correspond(s) to the letter(s) in Answer Mode. You can add Allowed Answers, checkbox Allow Equivalents, or add Disallowed Answers. In the example below, Allow Equivalents has been set, so all equivalent fractions of 1/2 will receive full marks.

8. You can choose to turn on Group Scoring or Conditional Scoring.
  1. When Group Scoring is turned on, you can organize different answers into groups, with each answer in a group being interchangeable. In the example below, this would mean that the factors of 24 could be answered in any order and students would get full marks.

  2. When Conditional Scoring is turned on, the question will auto-grade against the set criteria instead of a specified number or range (see example below).
