Troubleshooting - Accessing Edcite and Assignments

When teachers/students are not on a school network or managed device, they may face some issues in accessing or opening Edcite assignments and submitting them.

Here are some of the ways teachers can help them avoid common problems.

1. Does Edcite work on all browsers/devices?
Edcite is a fully online service and is designed to work on all modern computers and hand-held devices with an updated browser and an internet download speed of at least 3.5 Mbps and an upload speed of 0.5 Mbps.
Edcite works best on the Chrome browser, Version 85 and above. The following browsers are also compatible with Edcite:

Firefox Version 81 and above
Safari Version 14 and above
Edge Version 85  and above

2. My student is getting a blank screen on logging in to Edcite / on opening the assignment
It's possible that the browsers on student devices have add-ons or extensions that could interfere with Edcite. We recommend clearing browser history and cache to avoid the possibility of this.
If it is not practical to have these extensions/add-ons deleted, we recommend getting the student to log into Edcite through incognito or private mode.

On Chrome:

On Firefox:

3. My students are unable to submit their assignments. They get a spinning wheel.
It might be that the student's browser cache storage is full, or their browser extensions are interfering with the submission. However, we do not recommend that students retry submission, because it is likely the submission has already taken place, and reopening the assignment will only lead to a retake.
Instead, we suggest that students return to the Edcite Home Page and logout of Edcite. For next steps, please refer to the following instructions.
For Teacher-assigned assignments:
In an incognito (or private) window, students should login to Edcite again and check if the assignment is still on their 'Current Assignments' tab. If it is listed here, it indicates the submission hasn't gone through and they can return to the assignment and try submitting again. Their work will not be lost.
If the assignment is not listed under 'Current Assignments', then it is already submitted, and they should be able to access their reports under 'My Assignments'.
For District-distributed assignments:
Students should be advised to contact their teachers. Teachers can check a student's submission status on their class assignment Grading Page. If it turns out that the student has not submitted, then the teacher can either Force Submit the student's work, or direct the student to review and submit the assignment per instructions below.
In an incognito (or private) window, students should login to Edcite again, click on the start button and enter the code to return to the assessment. They can review their work and proceed to submit.
