Android User Guide - Scribble

With the Scribble feature, you can draw straight onto a blank canvas or on top of images you've added.
Scribble will allow you to draw diagrams and equations, and add numbered pins.

All your drawings, pins, and pin labels will be linked to your audio recording. You can view these links in Sonocent Audio Notetaker on your desktop, after you've transferred the recording from the mobile app.

To start creating a Scribble, tap the bottom-right button (1).

Or, if you wish to Scribble on top of an existing image, tap the blue pen symbol on the bottom right to bring up the menu, then tap the Scribble symbol (1).

From the same menu, you can also completely clear the Image Pane by tapping the Delete button (2). This will delete all Scribbles and images from the selected section.

You can use the following touch gestures in Scribble:

  • Pinch to zoom in and out.
  • Use two fingers to pan around.
  • Use a single finger for drawing.
  • To hide the colour picker, swipe down across it.

  • The Pen tool (3) will be selected by default. You can change the colour of the pen from the available colours, and change the size of the pen using the slider (8). To hide the colour picker, either swipe down across the picker or tap on the Pen button again.
  • The Highlighter (4) works similarly to the Pen tool.
  • The Pin tool (5) allows you to add numbered pins with your choice of colour. The pin numbers are added in sequential order.
  • The Eraser (6) will delete entire strokes and pins. Everything that is going to be deleted will be highlighted; move your finger to highlight different parts. Releasing your finger will delete everything that is currently selected.
    • Move your finger to a blank part and release to cancel the eraser.
    • Zoom into your scribble for more accuracy.
    • Tap to quickly delete.
  • Tapping the Toggle Grid (7) button will display a grid on the canvas, and tapping the button again will hide the grid. The grid will not be saved as part of the Scribble.
  • Use the Undo and Redo buttons (9) to undo or restore your last strokes and pins.
  • When you're done with your Scribble and want to return to the recording view, simply click on the back arrow (10) in the top left corner.

During recording you can go back to edit an existing Scribble: select the section with the Scribble, tap the blue pen symbol on the bottom right of the Image Pane, then tap the Scribble symbol.

To completely clear the Image Pane, tap the blue pen symbol and then the Delete button. This will delete all Scribbles and images from the selected section.

As with images, you can create one Scribble per section.

If you have the upgraded version of Sonocent Recorder or our Sonocent Link app then you can also edit your Scribbles in your saved recordings.

You can view your Scribbles in Audio Notetaker after you've transferred your project. Make sure you have updated to the very latest version.
