Android User Guide - Settings


  • To configure the App press the settings button (1).
 


General

  • Upgrade Sonocent Recorder - Upgrade from the free version of the app to add additional features.
  • Recording Quality - You can choose from 4 different quality settings:
    1. Extra LP: 48.0KHz, 1 channel @8Kbps (3.6MB/hour)
    2. LP: 48.0KHz, 1 channel @ 16Kbps (7.2MB/hour)
    3. Standard: 48.0KHz, 1 channel @32Kbps (14.4MB/hour)
    4. HQ: 48.0KHz, 1 channel @48Kbps (21.6MB/hour)
    5. Stereo HQ: 48.0KHz, 2 channels @64Kbps (28.8MB/hour)
    6. Stereo Extra HQ: 48.0KHz. 2 channels @ 128Kbps (57.6MB/hour)
  • Save Photos to Library - If you use the app to take photos then these get added to your library by default; turn that off here.
 


Playback Effects

These effects are only applied during playback of your audio. This means that when you transfer the file to Audio Notetaker you get the original recording and can use the enhanced playback effects in Audio Notetaker.

  • Adjust Volume Automatically - During playback we automatically adjust the volume so that you get a consistent volume throughout your recording.
  • Noise Cancellation - During playback we reduce the background noise of your recording.
 

Colour Settings

  • You can add new colour keys, change or delete keys.
  • Continuous Colouring - this option is on by default and when on, will continue to colour subsequent chunks, as they are recorded, with your selected colour.
  • Glance Mode Chunk Colour - Choose which colour is used in Glance Mode. The colours available are limited to those available in the current (default) colour key.
  • Edit Colour Key - Lets you pick your default key, edit existing keys, create new keys and delete keys.


  • The default Colour Key used when you start a new recording is ticked (1)
  • Tap on a key to edit it.
  • Use the + button (2) to add a new key.


  • To Delete a Key: Long press the key to delete then press delete button (3) Note that you cannot delete the inbuilt colour keys.
  • To Copy a Key: Long press the key to copy and press the copy button (4).
 


View Settings

Show Image Preview - This setting is enabled by default. When enabled, the image you've added to a section will be displayed as a thumbnail on the same page as your text notes. If a section has no image, an empty thumbnail icon will be shown instead. You can tap the Image Preview thumbnail at any time to quickly switch to the Image Pane.

If you have added a PDF file to your project, an additional 'Add a PDF page' button will be displayed on the right-hand side of the Image Preview (though only if the section doesn't yet have an image or PDF page added). Tapping the 'Add a PDF page' button will take you to the PDF page picker. Read more about working with PDF files  here .


Flic button

Flic is a wireless push-button that can be used with the Sonocent Recorder. The Flic button is an optional accessory and can be purchased from Flic's website. 

To connect your Flic button to the Sonocent Recorder app, you must first perform the initial set up of your Flic button with the Flic app, which can be downloaded from Google's Play Store and Apple's App Store. 

After completing the set-up of Flic, follow these steps to start using Flic with the Sonocent Recorder:
  1. Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your device
  2. Open the Sonocent Recorder
  3. Go to Settings -> Flic Button -> Link Flic
  4. From the list, grab your Flic
  5. You can now use the Flic button with the Sonocent Recorder

You can use the Flic button to perform the following actions while recording or during playback:
 
You can perform the above Flic actions both in Glance Mode and in the normal recording interface.
