The Project tab is made up of the Toolbar, Sidebar and your workspace, which is split into four panes. When you first start only three panes are displayed; they can each be shown or hidden using the pane selector at the bottom left of the screen:

  • The Audio Pane is where the audio visualisationvisualization will be displayed.
  • The Text Pane is for entering text.
  • The Reference Pane is an additional pane for entering text.
  • The Image Pane can be used for images and slides and PDF's.

The proportional width of the panes can be altered by clicking and dragging the bar separating them.

The Pane that has focus has its header highlighted blue; you can switch focus between the panes using ALT Left Arrow and ALT Right Arrow.

On the far right of the screen there is the new Side Bar. This will change depending on which pane you are currently working in.

In the Top right of the screen is where you can tag you file with a title, speaker and topic tags. These tags are to help you organise and identify your Audio Notetaker files. The recorded date and time are automatically filled, but can be changed. There are drop-down boxes to enable you to select from previous entries so that tags can be used for categorisation.
