Reference Guide: 4.9 Volume Control

Reference Guide: 4.9 Volume Control

We have introduced an option to automatically adjust the volume of your recording. This setting is On by default when you create a new project or when you open a project created in an older version. The setting can be found under Audio Cleanup on the toolbar. With Auto volume switched on Audio Notetaker increases the volume to make quieter recordings easier to listen to. You can still use the volume slider to change the volume and it will be less likely to distort the recording at louder settings.

With Auto Volume switched off you will need to use the volume slider to adjust for any quieter or louder recordings. With this option Audio Notetaker will not be able to limit the volume, making it more likely to become distorted.

When you save your file we remember whether you switched Auto Volume on or off. We also remember the position of the volume slider in both settings.

If you open the file in an older version of Audio Notetaker then it will revert to the slider setting with Auto Volume switched off.

The volume can be set differently for every project tab. You can also choose to export your audio with the volume and other playback settings applied.
