Reference Guide: 9.2 Unsaved Recordings

The document recovery system will not recover all the recorded audio if there is an unexpected shutdown during recording, since more audio will have been recorded since the last backup.

Therefore, whilst you are recording, Audio Notetaker keeps a copy of the recording in the “Unsaved Recordings” folder, normally in “Documents/Audio Notetaker Recordings”. If Audio Notetaker closes without saving the file then the recording will be moved to your Trash / Recycle Bin; this prevents your computer becoming cluttered with lots of files but will allow you to recover the file should you need to - as long as you havent emptied your Trash!
