Brokerage Charges Explained- Angel Broking

Brokerage
We don't offer the normal Angel Plan of Flat 20Rs per order, DIRECTLY . That plan is different and it charges you flat 20Rs for every executed order. The plan we have is mentioned below and it charges a minimum 30Rs brokerage + Tax. You  can switch to the 20Rs/Order Plan after creation of the Demat account.
Brokerage Plan
The FnO brokerage plan can be modified for clients who do only FnO. But you have to make us know beforehand, not after brokerage is deducted.

Security Transaction Tax (STT)
It’s a direct tax levied on every security transaction in the exchange, collected by the broker. STT is charged for both buying and selling on equity delivery, and on selling on intraday and FnO.

  • Equity Delivery: 0.1% on both Buy and Sell
  • Equity Intraday: 0.025% on the Sell Side
  • Equity Futures: 0.01% on Sell Side
  • Equity Options: 0.05% on Sell Side(on Premium)
  • Commodity Futures: 0.01% on sell side (Non-Agri)
  • Commodity Options: 0.05% on sell side
  • Currency F&O: No STT
  • On Exercise transaction: 0.125%
  • Right to entitlement: 0.05% on sell side

Transaction / Turnover Charges
Transaction / Turnover charges are levied by exchanges (NSEBSEMCXNCDEX) and clearing charges are levied by clearing members for settling trades done by the clients.

Offline Trade
Trades which are not done online by clients are considered as offline trade. For e.g.: Margin Square-off, RMS Square-off, Auto Square-off, contract expiry etc.

Stamp Charges
Until now, variable stamp charges applied at different states as per the Stamp Duty Act of 1899 on instruments transacted in the stock exchange. From July 1 2020, the government has decided to replace the current system with new uniform stamp duty rates in shares, debentures, futures and options, currency, and other capital assets. Please refer to the list below for the current rates.

Stamp Duty

(On buy side only) Delivery: 0.015%, Intraday: 0.003%, Equity Futures: 0.002%, Equity Options: 0.003%, and Currency F&O: 0.0001%.

Commodity Futures: 0.002%, Commodity Options: 0.003% (MCX)


GST
An 18% GST applies on brokerage, transaction charges, SEBI Charges and Risk Management charges.

SEBI Charges
The Security and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) charges fees on security transactions for regulating the market. Please check the above table for rates. Charges Rs. 10/Crore 

Account Maintenance Charges
Monthly account maintenance charges are fixed at Rs.20 + Taxes.
This fee is exempt to those who have opted for Lifetime AMC Plan at Rs. 2950 i.e. 2500 + Tax.
Some are also exempt from this, if they have opted 3 Year Plan at Rs. 531 i.e. 450 + Tax.

Depository Participant (DP) Charges
Rs 20 plus GST applies on per scrip irrespective of volume when stocks are sold from the holding. Depository participant charges are collected by the depository and depository participant, that is Angel One.
