Do I have to change the prongs, patient tubing, hat, etc., while the patient is receiving treatment?

You do not need to replace any accessories during Pumani bubbleCPAP treatment, unless you notice an issue with the attachment to the patient, such as the prongs not staying in place, the hat not staying in place, etc.

If the prongs become blocked, you will need to replace the nasal prongs with new, clean nasal prongs.

If the patient tubing becomes blocked by debris, you will need to replace the patient tubing with new, clean patient tubing.

NOTE: any replacement of the hat, prongs, or tubing will need to be done rapidly if the patient is currently receiving treatment. Any extended (longer than 5 seconds) loss of pressurized air delivered to the patient could cause the patient’s condition to deteriorate.
