Backup or transfer my Jolly Technologies Software

How do I backup or transfer my Jolly Technologies Software?

Software Backup and Transfer Instructions:

Each Jolly software license can only be installed on one computer at a time.

(Once the software has been activated on the new machine, pushing the backup over the new installation should restore the settings to the new machine.)

To back up your software, there are three files that contain all internal data, listed below. (If you are using external custom databases, or server based databases those would need to be backed up separately.)  In addition, I back up each template individually in the event that there is some data corruption.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Jolly Technologies\(ID Flow/Other Jolly Software)\Sample Databases\Sample Database.mdb
C:\Program Files (x86)\Jolly Technologies\(ID Flow/Other Jolly Software)\Sample Companies\Sample Company.jlt
C:\Program Files (x86)\Jolly Technologies\(ID Flow/Other Jolly Software)\Application Data\jollyLocalApplicationData.dat

To transfer the software to a new computer, please follow these steps:

On the old computer:
      Back up Card Design Templates.
  1. Select the "Settings" button on the lower left part of the screen
  2. Select "Cardholder Groups" from the list on the left
  3. Select "Manage" then click on the Cardholder Group on the right you wish to export and click on the "Edit" button
  4. Select "ID Card" from the list on the left and select "Card Design"
  5. Click on Export and chose a location to save the exported template.
Then...
  1. Exit the Jolly software application if it is running.
  2. Using the mouse, right-click on the Jolly application icon and choose the "Run as administrator" option.
  3. Go to the "Help" menu and select "Activations".
  4. Choose the Transfer License to another computer option.
  5. Complete the Transfer License process to deactivate the software on your old computer.
  6. You will be given a Deactivation Code and Hardware ID, write down both of these for your records as we may require you to provide them when re-activating the software. I also recommend taking a screenshot of the deactivation code since it is very long and prone to be written down incorrectly.

On the new computer:
  1. Exit the Jolly software application if it is running.
  2. Using the mouse, right-click on the Jolly application icon and choose the "Run as administrator" option.
  3. Complete the Activation Wizard.

If you are unable to deactivate, or are having problems activating the software on the new computer, please respond with the following information.
  1. License Key
  2. Hardware ID from the new computer
  3. Deactivation Code (if available)
  4. Reason for Manual Activation (Here is a link to the necessary form: Jolly New Installation Request Form)

If you need any additional help please let me know! :)
