iD Tech Camps

What safety measures are taken in the overnight programs?

Risk management is our number one priority. All classes, activities, meals, and boarding are supervised by our adult staff. Overnight students will stay in the campus dorms. Boys and girls will be housed on separate floors or opposite wings of the dorm. Most locations have both male and female instructors that stay in separate rooms on the same floor as the students, generally near fire exits and stairwells.

Every staff member who comes in contact with students at camp is required to undergo a thorough background check. We run criminal background checks, sexual offender background checks, identification checks, and multiple reference checks. All camps have Directors and staff that are CPR & First Aid certified.

All iD Tech programs adhere to the “Rule of Three,” ensuring that there are always at least three people in a room, or that staff and students are in sight of others at all times.

The “Rule of Three” encompasses the following:

            • Staff members will never be alone with a student. There must always another staff member or student present.

            • If a student requires attention in a private area due to sickness, injury, or another issue, there must be two staff members present.

            • In all other instances, staff members must interact with students within viewing distance of another staff member, another student, or the rest of the group.
