OBD Genie not programming an older vehicle
After turning on your Chrysler-based vehicle, letting it sit for 1 minute, then installing your OBD Genie into the OBD II port of your vehicle, if you don't get a solid green light indicating programming, have done a CANBUS reset, and still don't get the desired result, there may not be enough space left for the programming due to DTCs (errors) accumulated within the vehicle memory. The errors are messages that can be read by tools at dealerships and automotive shops, and saved in the vehicle memory, to give the mechanic a clear history of issues within the vehicle. However, these errors don't remove themselves and have to be manually cleared, this is very prevalent in older vehicles that may have software issues that aren't addressed for many years.
This will cause the Genie to reject programming due to there being no more space to apply it in the vehicle memory. To fix this, you can go to any automotive shop, such as PepBoys or Autozone, that has a Wi-Tech tool and ask them to clear the DTC error codes or cache in your vehicle. After this, try the Genie again and it will likely work with no issues.
