NO CAMERA IMAGE ON THE SCREEN

NO CAMERA IMAGE ON THE SCREEN

There are only 3 things that can affect the camera not working.

1. POWER & GROUND- Power and ground as mentioned earlier is recommended to be plugged into a 12-volt accessory outlet for example the cigarette port. Please check the connection on where the power and ground wires were cramped. Please also check that there is no pinched or slightly cut wires. I recently had a customer calling in about the same thing and we tried replacing everything but found out that during the installation of the black and red wires it got damaged.

2. Programming- The OBD Genie that you received is a programmer to enable you to have the camera option. As you are installing the genie it is required to give you a green light as it indicates your vehicle is now programmed for the camera. If you do not get a green light, then that is an issue. Please verify that you have the right genie. It should say C-RVC. Make sure that when you had the genie connected to the OBD port that you notate the lights and how many lights you are receiving as it helps us determine the error codes and why it may not be working. The results of the programmer not working is when you put the vehicle in reverse then screen never change. It stays on the same screen it was on before putting the vehicle in reverse.

3. Camera- The camera itself may be defective. Please test that out by connecting your camera to another monitor of some sort with a RCA jack that can transfer the camera feed. If an image is showing on the screen of another device then that lets you know the camera is good.

4. CanBus Reset- If after checking all your connections if you are still having the same issue then try the reset below.

Can-bus reset:

-Take the positive and negative cables off your battery

-Tap them together and hold for 3 seconds

-(if you have a diesel, disconnect both batteries, then do one battery at a time then go to next step)

-Reconnect the cables to the battery.

-Let the vehicle sleep for 10-15 minutes

-Restart the vehicle with the engine running.

-Test the unit

This can fix many strange issues in our experience and will eliminate any glitches or bugs going on with the system usually. If it does not fix the issue, then we suggest disconnecting and reconnecting the plugs to the radio if you haven't done so already.
