OBD Genie Troubleshooting Guide

Following this simple instructions is the first steps to getting you back on the road with all the new modifications.

My OBDGENIE keeps flashing red lights.

  1. Turn the vehicle off.
  2. Unplug the OBDGENIE and wait 10 seconds.
  3. After the 10 seconds restart the vehicle or turn your ignition to have your radio/accessories on.
  4. Wait about 1 minute for all the vehicle system to come on.
  5. Plug in the OBDGENIE to the OBD2 port and verify is properly plugged in.
  6. If you still see a flashing red light, count the number of times you see it blink.
  7. Try a Can-BUS Reset
     CAN-bus reset:
  • Remove positive and negative cables from the vehicle battery.
  • Touch and hold the cables together for  5 - 10 seconds.
  • (if you have a diesel, disconnect both batteries, then do one battery at a time)
  • Let the vehicle sit for 10 minutes.
  • Reconnect terminals.
  • With all doors closed, lock the vehicle and let it sit for 15 minutes.
  • Start vehicle with the door open.
  • Let vehicle run for 5 minutes.
If you have a 2018+ Vehicle, you may need to install a Security Bypass Module:

Note: A solid green light indicates success.
