2018 + Vehicles with a Security Gateway

The below pictures are from a 2018 Ram 1500, but the Security Gateway module will look the same on all vehicles just different locations

2018 and newer FCA Vehicles come with an OBDII "firewall" (SGW) that blocks any aftermarket connections to the vehicle control systems. This bypass allows the removal of the SGW and restores the vehicle to 2017 and prior accessibility.

First you need to remove the bezel around the radio. There are many youtube video on how to do this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IaHVl6IC6NA&feature=youtu.be. (to oversimplify: remove the center console cover that has the cup holders in it, then remove the radio bezel)

PLEASE NOTE: You only need to remove the two wires to place into the security gateway. If you can reach these wires without removing the radio please do so.

You should see this:

The SGW is sitting behind as shown here:

Now you will need to remove the Radio/Uconnect/Head unit.

If you have small hands, you can reach in behind and unplug the two plugs. Or unscrew the 3 screws holding the SGW bracket.

This is the SGW:

Take the SGW Bypass and connect the two plugs from the SGW.
