Introduction

Loopring is a Layer 2 (L2) Ethereum zkRollup protocol developed for securely scaling Ethereum. The Loopring protocol can be used to build safe, fast, and low-cost non-custodial exchanges and payment applications.

We hope to provide a secure transaction infrastructure for the entire industry, enhance the trading experience of crypto asset holders, and promote the development of a new generation of financial systems. We firmly believe that the second-tier expansion plan of Ethereum (especially zkRollups) is the future development trend.

The Problem

Currently, there are many challenges to building on, using or transacting on the Ethereum blockchain, including very high costs (gas fees), long wait times for transactions to be completed (transaction finality) and transaction speed (transactions per second or TPS).

The Loopring Solution

Loopring is a Layer 2 solution designed to address Ethereum’s scalability problems by using zkrollups to provide low cost, fast, and secure (high-performance) transaction protocol. Loopring is building secure L2 infrastructure in order to enhance trading experiences of crypto asset holders and allow new generations of financial applications to be built on the Ethereum blockchain.

With the Loopring protocol, decentralized finance (DeFi) users do not have to choose between security or performance. Loopring’s L2 ensures Ethereum-level security while providing both low-cost and fast transactions and transfers. 

Loopring aims to provide the best zkRollup-based decentralized trading protocol on Ethereum supporting order book matching and automatic market maker (AMM) flash trading. To facilitate this, Loopring also provides two user-facing products: The Loopring Smart Wallet and Loopring L2 website app.

Loopring Smart Wallet

The Loopring Smart Wallet is the first of its kind, an Ethereum smart wallet supported by zkRollup technology. With zkRollups, Loopring’s Smart wallet is secured by Ethereum-level security while providing fast, cheap, and easy-to-use trades and transfers of your digital assets.

Loopring L2 website app 

The Loopring L2  website app is a Decentralised Exchange (DEX) built on the Loopring Protocol and is a trading platform utilizing zkRollup technology; providing secure, fast and cheap trades with Ethereum-level security. With Loopring’s DEX, you can enjoy comparable experiences in speed and cost to centralized exchanges, while on a decentralized and Ethereum-secured platform.
