Audio file naming conventions

Q: Can I set my own file name format for my tracks?

A: Magnetracks has a default standard for how audio files are named when you create a track. This is to ensure file names are always unique and to help Magnetracks identify "which is which" when managing them. However, yes, you have some control over how that file name is constructed.

The standard naming convention for every audio file managed by Magnetracks is as follows:

[CATALOGPREFIX]-[PROJECTPREFIX][TRACKID]_[TRACKTITLE]_[VERSION].[FILETYPE]

For example, for the full mix version of a track named "Love Song, the filename could be": ABC-XYZ123456_LoveSong_FULL.WAV

When you create a catalog and a project within that catalog, YOU set the prefix for each. So if your catalog is GRN and your project is TTL, the files for a track in that project would be named something like:

GRN-TTL123456_LoveSong_FULL.WAV
GRN-TTL123456_LoveSong_30S.WAV
GRN-TTL123456_LoveSong_UNDRSCR.WAV
