Import volunteers into a session


This process is made up of two stages. 

Stage 1. First, you will import the desired file into the People Profiles page (steps 1 – 7): 

1.  Login and click on the People Profiles button.


2. This screen contains all records currently in the system. In the top right corner of the screen, 
    click on the import button .  


3.  From the Import People screen, you can click the Browse button to upload your desired file.
     Before importing, click on the sample file link. To import properly, your file must be in the same
     format as the sample file. 


4. a.  Clicking the sample file link will open a Save As window on your computer. It will open
         to your default download folder, or the last folder in which you saved an item. You can
         change where the sample file will download by clicking in the side navigation.
     b.    Clicking Save will save the sample file in the location you designated on your computer.


5. Once your file format matches the format of the sample file
    a.    simply click the Browse button; 
    b.    locate the file you wish to import;
    c.     then click Open.


6. The selected file will automatically appear in the Import People file field and the Import
     button will become active. Click the Import button. Your file is now in the People profile
     database. 

7.  The system automatically alphabetizes the file by last name. You will also receive a summary
     indicating total records imported and any records that may need attention. Click View Details
     to generate a pdf report of your import.



Stage 2. Now, you will navigate to the session you would like to assign people you have
just added as volunteers (steps 8 – 13):

8.a.  Click on the Mission Pathways logo in the top left corner of the screen.
   b.  From the Home page, select Encounter Sessions/Retreats.


9. Select the session in which you would like to assign Volunteers.



10a. Select Volunteers from the left navigation bar
    b. Then click the quick add icon.


11. You can click the drop-down list in Last Name and search for the person you just imported
     to assign as a volunteer in this session. You can also begin typing the first few letters of
     their last name.


12a. Once you have selected the person you want to assign as a volunteer in this session,
        you can then assign them a Primary and Secondary Role from the drop-down list.
    b. There is also a Comments to add any notes regarding this volunteer.
    c. When you have completed these fields, click Save & Close or if you would like to assign
        another volunteer at this time, click Save & Add New.



13. Once you have finished assigning volunteers to this session, you will arrive at the Volunteer
      Pool screen.
