COVID-19 changes to SSP

To support the current COVID-19 outbreak, changes have been made to SSP. A new code is available for the SSP diary, C. This is a code to be used specifically for COVID-19 absences, including any self-isolation, which when used will begin SSP payments from the first day. This differs to the normal SSP codes, which usually require three Waiting days until SSP can be paid. For example, look at the following example using the usual S code:



This is then converted to the followin, with the three days of Waiting day codes added:



Now, using the new C - Covid-19 related absence code:



This is then converted to:



As you can see, the new code is not converted to a W code for waiting period.

 

Code C is payed at the same rate as code P.

 

Note: The C code can only be used on 13/03/2020 and onwards. Prior to this date, the usual rules are applied.
