Omadi Mobile App: License Plate Lookup & VIN Scanner
Omadi has an integration with Carfax that will pull in the vehicle information of the vehicle if the license plate of is entered. (Please note that you should not use spaces when entering license plate numbers.) The vehicle information will fill in once you tap the magnifying glass icon. (This integration is only available on the mobile app, not on the web.) Sometimes Carfax does not update their information immediately, so it is important to verify that the information that populates matches the vehicle being towed. It is also important to verify the vehicle information in case the license plate is stolen.
VIN Scanner
To scan a VIN, tap the blue barcode icon to the right of the VIN field. This will open the camera. Make sure the entire VIN is visible in the camera’s view. The camera will automatically scan the VIN and populate the following fields: VIN, Year, Make, Model. The driver should verify that the information is correct. The VIN scanner does not auto-populate the license number and state, so the driver should enter that information.
Note: The VIN should be clean and unobstructed in order for the VIN scanner to work. Poor lighting can also reduce VIN scanner effectiveness.
