How does OnSong determine how to import image files?

Importing pictures or photos into OnSong requires the import process to make a decision as to the purpose of the image file. For instance, is the image to be used for a background graphic for Lyrics Projection and store it in the Background Media Library, or is it a scanned document of a chord chart or music sheet that should be listed in the Songs Menu?

When you import a song from another app, OnSong has no context to help determine this usage. If the image is in a portrait orientation (vertical), OnSong will always import that file as a song and place the image into your Songs Menu. If the image is in a landscape orientation (horizontal), OnSong tests the four corners of the graphic to determine relative lightness. If the image is considered "paper-like", OnSong will import the image as a song in the Songs Menu. Otherwise, the image is import into the Background Media Library to be used as a background for Lyrics Projection.

As mentioned previously, this is only the case if OnSong cannot establish the desired context of the image file. If you import an image file using the Add Songs Menu, then file will always be imported into the Songs Menu. Using the same logic, if you import an image file using the + or camera icon in the Background Media Library editor, the image will always be imported as a media asset for use with Lyrics Projection.
