How can I update OnSong to receive the latest improvements?

OnSong is constantly being improved and updated. If you are experiencing an issue with OnSong, we first recommend updating to the latest version. You can find the latest version of OnSong available here: http://onsongapp.com/releases/latest

While OnSong updates should install automatically, you can manually update if you've disabled automatic updates using these instructions:

  1. Make sure you have time to install updates and then use it during a practice or two. Don't update right before a gig. You wouldn't use a new instrument or piece of equipment without practicing or sound checking first, so treat software updates the same way. Play it safe!
  2. Make sure you backup your OnSong library. Any update to any software has a small but very real chance of effecting your stuff. Always backup your OnSong library before you update OnSong or iOS.
  3. Next, check the version of OnSong you are using. To do this, open OnSong from the home screen and then go into the Utilities menu by tapping on the gear icon. Next, tap on Settings. Find the About section on the left and the current version of the app will appear on the right next to Version. You can determine if you need to update there. We keep a running history of every version of OnSong including release notes.
  4. To update OnSong, open the App Store app from your device's home screen and locate the Updates tab in the lower right. This will show you if there is an update available. If there isn't anything there, you can pull down on the list to refresh it and display new updates. If an update is available for OnSong you can tap Update. You can also do this on the OnSong app information page.
  5. If you're using iOS 13, you will need to open the App Store, tap on the Profile icon on the top right, and update your app from the pop-up menu. If you do not see an update, you will need to swipe down in this menu to "refresh" it.
  6. If you have trouble updating, you'll want to contact App Store Support since the updating process is controlled through Apple. Keep in mind that if you had received a refund for the app that you will not be eligible for updates. You can contact App Store Support here: http://onsongapp.com/support/appstore
