Will OnSong work with my iPad model and with my iOS version?
OnSong is currently able to operate on iPad 2's and up. OnSong also currently supports iOS 9 and up. If your iPad fits both of these descriptions, then OnSong will work on your device.
However, that being said, we officially recommend purchasing and using iPads made within the last 2 years or so, such as iPad 2018's and up, for use with OnSong. We also recommend devices running iOS 12 and up. This is because you will be able to get much more longevity and return on investment with buying newer iPads that can run newer iOS versions as opposed to buying older iPad's like iPad 2's, 3's, 4's, etc. For one thing, iPad 4's and similar iPad models are 7 years old or more, and their age is starting to show with their slow performance and sometimes laggy interface. Additionally, Apple will soon drop support for older iOS's like iOS 9 and iOS 10 (which are used by these earlier types of iPads), meaning that OnSong will soon be unable to support these iPads as well.
That being said, you can get a brand new iPad that is a more recent model for about $300 nowadays (see this link:
http://onsongapp.com/products/ipad), which is a great value for a tool that you can use for years into the future. Think of it this way: you could buy a $50 guitar, but it will not last as long nor function nearly as well as a $500 guitar would. An iPad (and especially an iPad running OnSong) can be considered a piece of gear in this way- you will get out of it what you invest into it.
