How to download data from the Robin SmartPat 5000 and SmartPat 5500 using a USB-PC Cable

This guide will take you through the steps to download your data from the Robin SmartPat 5000 and SmartPat 5500 into PATorganiser software.

Before you attempt to download any data to PATorganiser ensure you have installed "pat connect" to your computer/tablet first.

Select Import Tests from the main screen


Select Settings

  1. Select Robin
  2. Select Smart PAT5000  
  3. Select an available Com Port
  4. Select the Baud Rate of 9600
  5. Ensure you are logged into PAT Connect (you will only need to do this once)
  6. Select Back


Select Connect

Connecting the SmartPat 5000 or SmartPat 5500 to your computer/Tablet

Before going any further, make sure your PAT tester is connected to your computer using the supplied cable (only use the cable that came with your SmartPat tester). 

Downloading Data from The Robin SmartPat 5000.

At the initial screen of the Robin SmartPat 5000 (if necessary press the RESET button on the SmartPAT 5000 to display this),
"Select a FUNCTION or use the HELP key."

Press the RESULT key on the SmartPAT5000, the following screen is displayed.
"Display stored records?"
Press the NO key on the SmartPAT5000 keyboard, the following screen is displayed.

"Print stored records?"

Press the NO key on the SmartPAT5000 keyboard, the following screen is displayed.
"Download records to computer?"

Press the YES key on the SmartPAT5000 keyboard the following screen is displayed.
"PATTEST 5000?"

Press the YES key on the SmartPAT5000 keyboard, the following screen is displayed.
"Slow speed data transfer?"

Make sure you press the NO key on the SmartPAT5000 keyboard.
An individual appliance can be downloaded by pressing YES on the SmartPAT5000 then entering its appliance number at this screen
"Enter appliance no?"

Otherwise press NO on the SmartPAT5000 the following screen is displayed.
"Start at record? ...1"
 
Either press NO on the SmartPAT5000 followed by the first record to be downloaded otherwise press YES, the following screen is displayed.
"End at record?  ...86"

Either press NO on the SmartPAT5000 followed by the last record to be downloaded otherwise press YES, the following screen is displayed.
"LOAD   from record ...1   to ...86?"

Confirm the range of records and, if correct, press YES on the SmartPAT5000 the following screen is displayed.
"Press (GO) to start."

Finally, press the GO key on the SmartPAT5000.

Downloading Robin SmartPat 5500

At the initial screen of the Robin SmartPat 5500 (if necessary press the RESET button on the SmartPAT 5500 to display this),
Press PRINT/PC Key, the following screen is displayed.

"Print results YES/NO?"
Select NO, the following screen is displayed.
Download to floppy YES/NO?

Select NO, the following screen is displayed.

"Download to Robin PAT Test 5000 YES/NO"
Select NO,

Your Robin 5500 should still be displaying the following screen.
"Download to Robin PAT Test 5000 YES/NO"

Select YES to Download to Robin PAT Test 5000, download will begin, and the following message will be displayed.
"Please wait Downloading"

Once complete, the PAT should display "Downloading Complete" and the data will be displayed in PATorganiser.
