Mastercam Software Licensing Activation and Deactivation [Includes Offline]

Activation Wizard

Current compatibility starting with Mastercam 2019.

Mastercam's Activation Wizard guides you through the process of activating or deactivating your Mastercam software license. Once you receive your activation code, run the Activation Wizard on the computer that you want the license installed on.

The following procedures explain this process in more detail.

Activating a License

Follow the procedures below to activate a license on the computer with the Activation Wizard installed on it. This computer does not need to be connected to the Internet, however you will need another Internet-connected computer to complete the activation process.

- Activating a license (Internet access)

  1. On the computer that has the Activation Wizard installed, select Start, Mastercam Licensing Utilities, and Activation Wizard.

    The Mastercam Product Activation Wizard displays.

  2. Select Online Activation/Deactivation.
  3. Select Activate a New License.
  4. Accept the terms on the Terms and Conditions page, and then click Next.
  5. Enter in your License number and Activation code on the Product Activation Code page.

  6. Click Next.

    The Activation Wizard then checks your computer to see if it is connected to the Internet.

  7. The Verify License Information page displays the list of products that will be activated during this session. If the products are incorrect, please contact your local Mastercam Reseller.

  8. If the products listed are correct, select the checkbox to accept the terms, and click Next.

    The Activation Wizard begins the activation process. Upon successful activation, you may begin using Mastercam.

- Activating a license (No Internet access)

  1. On the computer that has the Activation Wizard installed, select Start, Mastercam Licensing Utilities, and Activation Wizard.

  2. Select Offline Activation/Deactivation.
  3. Select Activate a New License.
  4. Accept the terms on the Terms and Conditions page, and then click Next.
  5. Enter in your License number and Activation code on the Product Activation Code page.
  6. Click Next.

  7. On the Offline Activation page, select Save.

    The Save As dialog box displays.

  8. Save the license request file (.mcReq) to a network location, or a USB drive. Your Internet-connected computer must be able to access this file.
  9. On your Internet-connected computer, use a browser to go to Activate.Mastercam.com.
  10. Select Activate a license.
  11. Select Browse for your .mcReq file. Navigate to the .mcReq file, and select Open.
  12. Select Upload and Verify.
Example:

  1. When your license is verified, your information, and list of products displays. Ensure that the information displayed is correct. If there are any issues, please contact your local Mastercam Reseller.
  2. Select Download your .mcLic File. Save the file to a network location or a USB drive.

  3. If you did not close the Activation Wizard, select Next. Then select Finish Installing a New License.

    If you did close the Activation Wizard, restart it, and select Offline Activation/Deactivation, Finish Installing a New License.

  4. On the Install License page, select Open.
  5. Navigate to your .mcLic file, and select Open.
  6. Select Next.
  7. Upon successful activation, you may begin using Mastercam.

- Finish installing a new license

This option is available if you did not finish activating a new license. To continue to install a pending license, select either Offline Activation/Deactivation or Online Activation/Deactivation depending on your Internet status. Then select Finish Installing a New License and follow the prompts.

You cannot activate any other new licenses until the pending license has been installed or canceled.

- Cancel installing a new license

To cancel installing an pending license, select either Offline Activation/Deactivation or Online Activation/Deactivationdepending on your Internet status. Then select Cancel Installing a New License and follow the prompts.

Deactivating a License

Follow the procedures below to deactivate a license on the computer with the Activation Wizard installed on it.

- Deactivating a license (Internet access)

  1. On the computer that has the Activation Wizard installed, select Start, Mastercam Licensing Utilities, and Activation Wizard.

    The Mastercam Product Activation Wizard displays.

  2. Select Online Activation/Deactivation.
  3. Select Deactivate an Existing License.

  4. On the License Deactivation Selection page, select the license to deactivate.

    NOTE

    Depending on the license you are deactivating, it will state if it is an Evaluation or Retail license.

  5. Click Next.

  6. The Confirmation page displays. Ensure that the license you are about to deactivate is the correct one, then select Next.

    The Activation Wizard then checks your computer to see if it is connected to the internet and processes the deactivation.

  7. The Product Deactivation Successful page displays once your Mastercam products or evaluations have been deactivated. Be sure to record your License number and Activation code. If applicable, you can reactive your license on another computer, or at a later date.

    NOTE

    If you are deactivating the license to return the software, you will not be able to view your License number and Activation code.

- Deactivating a license (No Internet access)

  1. On the computer that has the Activation Wizard installed, select Start, Mastercam Licensing Utilities, and Activation Wizard.

    The Mastercam Product Activation Wizard displays.

  2. Select Offline Activation/Deactivation.
  3. Select Deactivate an Existing License.

  4. On the License Deactivation Selection page, select the license to deactivate.

    NOTE

    Depending on the license you are deactivating, it will state if it is an Evaluation or Retail license.

  5. Click Next.
  6. The Confirmation page displays. Ensure that the license you are about to deactivate is the correct one, then select Next.

  7. On the Offline Deactivation page, select Save.

    The Save As dialog box displays.

  8. Save the license return file (.mcDea) to a network location or a USB drive. Your Internet-connected computer must be able to access this file.
  9. Select Next.
  10. Select Finish.
  11. On your Internet-connected computer, use a browser to go to Activate.Mastercam.com.
  12. Select Deactivate a license.
  13. Select Browse for your .mcDea file.
  14. Navigate to the .mcDea file and select Open.
  15. Select Upload and Verify.
Example:

  2. If everything is correct, select Deactivate your license.

  3. Your license will then be deactivated. Be sure to record your License number and Activation code. If applicable, you can reactivate your license on another computer, or at a later date.

    If you are deactivating the license to return the software, you will not be able to view your License number and Activation code.
