FAQ: What models of iPhone and iPad can I use Roon with?

Roon Remote is available in the App Store. It requires a minimum operating system of iOS 11 and is compatible with the following models:

iPhone

  1. iPhone SE

  3. iPhone 7/7+/7s/7s+
  4. iPhone 8/8+/8s/8s+
  5. iPhone X
  6. iPhone XS/XR/XS Max
  7. iPhone 11/11 Mini/11 Pro/11 Pro Max
  8. iPhone 12/12 Mini/12 Pro/12 Pro Max
  9. iPhone 13/13 Mini/13 Pro/13 Pro Max
  10. iPhone 14/14 Mini/14 Pro/14 Pro Max
  11. iPhone 15/15 Mini/15 Pro/15 Pro Max
Note: As of April 2024, Roon does not actively test on devices older than the iPhone 6 (released Oct. 2014)

iPad 

  1. iPad 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th generation
  2. iPad Air 1/2/3/4/5
  3. iPad mini 2/3/4/5/6
  4. iPad Pro (All models to date) 

Note: Roon Remote requires an active Roon membership, and a Roon Server running on the same network. 
Older iOS devices before iOS 11 are not supported as they either lack a 64-bit CPU or an OpenGL ES 3.0 capable GPU.
