How to setup a work order to print only for specific product types

Summary

This article explains how to setup a work order to print only for specific product types.

More Information

When you setup a work order, or any type of process report, you can configure it to print under various conditions:

  • For any order, no matter what products are on the order
  • For only orders with specific types of products
  • For only orders with specific types of styles.

This article will explain how to setup a work order to only print when the order has Horizontal Blinds or Horizontal Shades. Note: This article assumes you already have your report created and added to the system.

  1. From the Tasks menu, click Manage Process Reports.
  2. Click Setup Reports on the toolbar.
  3. Change the Output Type to Work Orders.
  4. By default work orders are set to print for "any" product type. Change the product type to "Horizontal Blinds".
  5. Click the Add button.
  6. Select the work order that you want to use for horizontal blinds and then click OK.
  7. When the Edit Process Report Setup screen appears, click OK. You will now see the report listed. The report(s) that are listed are the ones that will print when an order has at least one horizontal blind on it. Note that only the horizontal blind line items will print on the report.
  8. Change the Product Type to "Horizontal Shades".
  9. Click the Add button.
  10. Select the work order that you want to use for horizontal blinds and then click OK.
  11. When the Edit Process Report Setup screen appears, click OK.
  12. Click Close to close the Process Report and Label Setup screen.
  13. Close Reports Center.

You may want to change the Product Type to "Any" and make sure that the work order you created is not listed here. If it is then it will print for any product type instead of the specific product types you have setup. If the report is listed under the "Any" product type then just select it and click the delete button.
