Setting User Security in Solatech Focus

Setting User Security in Solatech Focus

Summary

Solatech allows an Account Administrator to specify various security settings for their users.  This knowledge base article contains information on the settings available, and how to use them.

More Information

Accessing the user security settings:

  1. Click Admin from the upper navigational bar
  2. Click Users from the lower navigational bar
  3. Click on the user name hyperlink for the user to be modified

Selecting user type

Each user must have one user type.  Multiple types can be selected for one user.
  1. Admin -
    1. Can view everything in the account. Privileges and Admin Privileges will be used to determine what they should be able to do in the account.
  2. Installer
    1. Can view sales and orders for which they are the assigned installer
  3. Sales Rep
    1. Can create Customers, Quotes and Sales. Can view Customers, Quotes and Sales for which they are the assigned rep.

Selecting Privileges for users

Privileges are used in conjunction with user type.  This section is only applicable for users who are either Admin or Sales Reps. Installers have pre-defined and limited access to the system.
This section determines what a user is able to view/or do on quotes, sales and orders.  Place a check mark to the left of each item you would like to give the user access to.
  1. All
  2. Delete Sales
  3. View Cost
  4. Override item price
  5. Send orders
  6. Cancel Orders
  7. Reopen Orders
  8. Delete Orders
  9. Edit Orders

 Admin Privileges

Admin privileges are only applicable for users who have the user type Admin selected. These selections will allow the primary Account Admin to restrict what other Admins can do,

Giving a user Admin privileges allows the user to view all customers, quotes, sales and orders in the system.  If you do not wants Admin users to be able to change account settings, then you would most likely not give them any of these privileges.

NoteIn situations where an installer should be able to see all customers, quotes, sales and orders on an account, you would give them the user types Admin and Installer.  Do not check any other settings in  Admin privileges.
  1. Account Settings
  2. Account Users
  3. Integrations
  4. Products
  5. Adjustments (if enabled)
  6. Discounts
  7. Lists

Using Read only

An additional checkbox Read Only is shown in the user type section.  Placing a check mark in this section will allow that user to view only the items to which they have been assigned privileges.  This checkbox is not available for users who are Sales Reps, as they will always need to actively work in the system.

Note:  The Primary Account Admin's privileges cannot be modified.  This user will have full access to the system at all times.

Applies To:

  1. Solatech Focus
  2. Solatech DOS
