When opening Solatech, you receive the message "Please wait while Windows configures Solatech Window Covering Software" and you are running Norton AntiVirus

Summary

This article will describe what Norton Anti Virus users should do if they receive the message "Please wait while Windows configures Solatech Window Covering Software" when attempting to open Solatech.  To resolve this problem, you may need to restore a file and add to Norton Antivirus's exception list in order to run Solatech properly. 

Instructions

  • Open Norton Antivirus
  • Click on History as shown below


  • On the Security History Window, you should see a Quarantined item called "shlpcrt.exe"
  • Click on that item and in the Details column, click on "More Options"
  • Click on the Restore link as shown below

  • On the Quarantine Restore Window, make sure that there is a check mark to in the box to the left of "Exclude this file ID from future scans..." as shown below


  • Click "Yes"
  • Open Solatech, and it should run normally
