Work-around for appointment reminders in Google Calendar

Summary

Solatech Focus gives you the ability to connect Google Calendar with your Focus account.  Once setup is completed, users may schedule appointments for themselves and other users on their account.

Many users want to take this a step further with the ability to email their customers an appointment confirmation, and a reminder before the appointment.  This article will review how to connect your Google Calendar and then give some suggestions on how to set up those reminders.

Connecting your Google calendar for Sales Reps and Installers

Using Google calendar to send Appointment confirmation emails

  1. Once your calendar is connected to your Solatech Focus software you will be able to set appointments through the software.  
  2. Once an appointment is set, go to your Google Calendar and click on the appointment.
  3. A small window will appear with appointment information.  In the top right of that window there is an envelope.  Click the envelope to send an email to your client.
  4. Note: this does not automatically fill in the client's email address, it will have to be entered manually.

Using Google calendar to Add-ons to set up Appointment reminders

  1. Google Calendar also has many add-ons available for setting up appointment reminders emails and/or text messages.
  2. In your Google Calendar click the plus (+) on the right side of your screen.

  1. A list of add-ons is opened.  Type "Appointment Reminders" in the search bar at the top of the screen and you should get at least 6 choices.

  1. Click on each selection to read more information, reviews, and see pricing.
