How to Track Customer Referrals in SalesPRO

Summary

This article describes how you can easily track customer referrals in SalesPRO.  This process is broken down into three steps: Adding Referral Methods Types, Selecting Referral Methods, and Running Referral reports. 

Instructions

Adding Referral Methods

  • From within SalesPRO, go to Maintenance>Manage Lists>Referral Methods.


  • At the bottom of the Referral Methods window, select New.


  • Enter the name of the referral type, e.g. Home Show.
  • Click OK to save your changes.
  • You can add as many different referral methods as desired to this list.

    Note:  You can also create referral methods by importing them.  Click on the box with the drop-down arrow, and select Import.

Selecting Referral Methods in the Customer Record


  1. When adding or editing a customer, navigate to the Details Tab.
  2. On the right hand side of the Edit Customer window, you'll see Referral.
  3. Use the drop down menu to select the appropriate referral method.
  4. Click OK to save.

Selecting Referral Methods in Order Entry

  1. When adding or editing a Quote, Sale or Order, navigate to the Installation/Other Tab.
  2. Under the heading Other you will see "Referral method:".
  3. Use the drop down menu to select the appropriate referral method.
  4. You can put more specific information for this referral in the second space. (For example:  If the referral method is "Friend", then the Friend's name can be entered into the second field.)
  5. Click "Save" to save the changes to your Q/S/O.


Running Referral Reports


  1. Select the Reports tab at the top of your screen.
  2. Select Sales & Orders.
  3. Scroll down the column until you see  Referral Summary.
  4. Click on that report to run it.
