Zoom integration updates

Now you can easily save recordings and transcripts of your Zoom Meetings right into Dropbox from our new desktop app. Recordings will be saved as MP4s; transcripts will be saved in VTT format and indexed, so you can find them by searching for any term spoken in your meetings. In addition, you can now start instant meetings right from within Dropbox using Zoom’s powerful instant meeting feature. Find more info on the Zoom integration in our help center.

New in the Dropbox app: People pages

The Dropbox app now features automatically created people pages for the team members you collaborate with the most. These pages show which files you and your teammate are working on together—and what they’ve updated recently—to help you find work faster. Learn about people pages in our help center.

Automatically free up hard drive space

Our hard drive space saving feature is now available for all Dropbox Business teams. Team members can now choose to have Dropbox move inactive files off their computers and into the cloud—automatically. Files will still appear on your computer but will only take up a fraction of the hard drive space. When needed, you can double-click to download them on demand. Learn more about automatic space saving in our help center.

Shared file locking

We’ve introduced a new file locking feature for Dropbox Business. When you lock a file, people with access won’t be able to edit it at the same time as you—though they’ll still be able to view, comment on, and share the file. If locked out users need access, they can click a button to send a notification to the original user, asking them to unlock the file. Admins can also unlock files from the admin console. You can find more details on file locking in our help center.
