How Do I Print Labels?

Studylog allows you to print labels for cages, groups, or samples. Here’s how to access this option:

1. In the Studies menu, open a new study by pressing [New] or open an existing study with [Edit], [Collect Data] or [Review Data].

New/Edit:

Collect Data:

Review Data:

2. Press this button, choose from Cage Labels, Group Labels, or Sample Labels, and the Print Labels window will open. From here, the options change depending on which of the three label types you choose:

In the Cage Labels window, choose the label format you want (the options available are usually specific to your lab) and select the cages you want to include.

In the Group Labels window, choose the label format, then the groups you want to include.

In the Sample Labels window, choose the label format. You can then enter the samples that you want to include in the Specify Samples field. Separate each entry by pressing [Enter]. If applicable, enter the date and the time at which the sample was taken. Finally, pick the animals you would like to print labels for in the Select Animals section. Note: These are not labels like the Cage and Group labels, but barcodes.

3. When you have configured your labels to your liking, click [Print] to see a preview. If things look the way you want, go ahead and print from the preview window via the [Print] or [Quick Print] buttons. The quick print button allows you to print via the default settings and skips the print configuration menu. When done, close the preview window and press [X] (Exit) to exit the Print Labels window.
