How to decide how much water to be used for brewing and proportion of espresso to that of milk to avoid coffee being too strong or diluted?

“An ideal espresso shot is around 30ml. This could vary depending on personal choice and quality of the coffee powder.
The Cremiere is programmed to release hot water in programmed doses of 30 ml (single shot for one spoon of coffee powder), 60 ml (double shot for two spoons of coffee powder) and the other two buttons are programmed for 100 ml and 150ml – These last two are meant for coffee blended with chicory or Turkish style coffee – not for espresso. So, being an automatic machine, it will dispense water according to the button you have pressed. Generally for a cup of cappuccino, the first button (30ml) is used and then milk added according to preference. For a long black coffee or Americano, hot water is to be added to a shot of espresso from the hot water spout included in the machine.
