Setting up your TeleBlend Gizmo in a DMZ

Setting up your TeleBlend Gizmo in a DMZ

You can setup your TeleBlend Gizmo in the DMZ (demilitarized zone) of your router if you continue to have problems where you lose dial tone and have to restart the TeleBlend unit to restore it or where you have one-way or two-way audio problems on inbound and outbound telephone calls. These problems are caused by the router's inability to maintain a consistent connection to the TeleBlend Gizmo and therefore the connection is torn down after some time. The connection is required by the TeleBlend Gizmo for dial tone and for two way communication on a phone call.
In order to place your TeleBlend device in the DMZ of your router, you should connect to the LAN port on the TeleBlend Gizmo and open a browser window. Enter the IP address 192.168.251.1 if your TeleBlend Gizmo is not a Linksys Silver color unit. If it is a Linksys unit, enter 192.168.0.1 into the browser URL. Login with the username "user" (without quotes) and the password "welcome". You can click on the WAN Interface to view the IP address. Note the IP address and login to your router. Enter the IP address into the DMZ configuration of your router and it will allow an uninterrupted connection to the TeleBlend Gizmo.
In some cases, the DMZ setup on the router continues to interrupt the connection. In these cases, you may need to configure port forwarding or triggering on the router to allow uninterrupted traffic to the TeleBlend device. The port forwarding or triggering would need to occur for UDP traffic on ports 5060 and 5070 along with ports 16384-65535.
