HFR 120 FPS with Christie Equipment
According to the latest information provided by Christie Digital, all Christie Series 2 and Series 3 projectors can natively support the 120FPS 2D content. As a matter of best practice the projector should be running a recent version of firmware.
With respect to Christie IMBS2 servers, the server must be upgraded to version of 1.8.7 or later to properly handle the content. Upgrading to version 1.8.7 also eliminates the need to purchase a separate software HFR license.
Other IMB type servers may be compatible. Confirm with the information on the specific server model. Note that only IMB type servers will run HFR. Servers using HD-SDI connections will not work.
As with any "specialty" format, it is highly recommended that the appropriate test content from the studio be obtained and run to confirm compatibility.
