ARTICLE: Configuring Medication Alerts

Step 1.  Create Alert profiles in System Configuration > Alerts

You can have as many alert profiles as you wish so you may, for example, have multiple profiles for different types of medication depending on the significance of any particular medication being missed.

Add Profile

This sample profile shows an alert profile that will

  • Alert the student at 15 minutes "before" the scheduled medication time (-15)
  • Alert the student and Nursing staff at 15 minutes "after" the scheduled medication time (if the medication has not been processed as administered within the Dispensary module in Reach)

Step 2.  Apply the Alert Profile to a student's scheduled medication

Go to People Management > Student's Profile and select the Medical tab.  Choose the Medications section and when scheduling the student's medication select an Alert Profile to apply to the medication's schedule.  Be sure to select "Set" within the Medication Reminder Settings window, click "Save Medication" within the Medication Details view AND save changes before exiting the student's profile to ensure that the alert setting is applied.
