TriboTEX Transmission Guide

How do I use a TriboTEX Transmission treatment?

See instructions below. A transmission flush is not necessary before applying. Our mechanics recommend treating every 80,000 mi/128,000 km.

Gently warming the tube will improve application. Do not microwave.

  • AUTOMATIC Formula 
    1. Warm up your engine, then shut it off.
    2. Locate your transmission dipstick or ATF fill port.
    3. Remove dipstick or plug and inject treatment.
    4. Replace dipstick or plug and drive normally.

  • MANUAL Formula 
    1. Warm up your engine, then shut it off.
    2. Locate your transmission fill port.
    3. Remove plug and inject treatment.
    4. Replace plug and drive normally.

  • DIFFERENTIAL Formula 
    A. Inject through differential fill port, OR
    B. Drain and clean differential. Mix treatment with gear oil and add to differential.

Does it work with my specific transmission fluid?

Yes, TriboTEX is known to be compatible with all transmission fluids on the market.

How much do I need?

One treatment is sufficient in most cases. Extra large or high-mileage vehicles may benefit from a second application after 500 mi/800 km.

Does it work in long-life fluids?

Yes! TriboTEX Transmission works in long-life fluids.

Does it work in manual transmissions?

Yes! We offer a Manual formula for gear oil and an Automatic formula for ATF.

Does it work in CVTs (continuously variable transmission)?

Yes! CVTs are known to be problematic, but TriboTEX has shown to improve CVT transmissions. We recommend our Manual transmission formula for CVTs.

Does it work in limited slip differentials or transfer cases?

Yes! We now offer a Differential formula.

Will this cause wet clutch plates to slip?

No! Drive normally during the initial application phase (500 mi/800 km). Once applied to the drivetrain, you can push the system harder.
