NOTE: Not all Mezzanine rooms are configured for in-room Audio during install. Please contact Oblong Client Support if you are unsure if your room supports Audio.

Problem: No Audio over HDMI Input

The standard Audio setup for Mezzanine involves compiling audio from any connected HDMI inputs, and then outputting this via a 3.5mm audio jack from the primary Mezzanine server to your Video Teleconference audio input(such that users on the far end of a Mezzanine session would be able to hear the audio), or other audio endpoint such as a mixer. If Audio in your room is not functioning, please follow these guidelines.

  1. Confirm that the volume on both your Video Telecnference device and in-room speakers is not muted, and elevate the volume to a comfortable level(no speaker buzz).
  2. Unplug the 3.5mm audio cable from the primary Mezzanine server in your rack. Plug this cable into another 3.5mm compatible audio device such as a laptop headphone port. Attempt playing audio from the non-Mezzanine device. If this test fails, this means the Mezzanine is likely outputting audio, but it is not reaching the speakers in the room due to either a volume or cabling issue. Please contact your AV Partner or Oblong Client Support for further assistance.
  3. If the test from Step 2 succeeds, but audio from Mezzanine HDMI ingests still isn't audible in room, please contact Oblong Client Support as this may indicate a hardware or firmware issue with your HDMI Ingest Devices.
