How to Switch a Single Sensor on a Project to a Backup Sensor

An ideal way to set up concrete temperature monitoring with HardTrack, is to attach your backup sensors to the HardTrack Cloud (HTC) Device so that if you need to switch from the primary to the backup sensor, you can do so remotely without any physical intervention at the device.  If your backup sensors are attached to the HTC device, beginning with the pour date and time, HardTrack will collect temperature data from the backup sensor starting with the pour date and time.  When you switch from your primary to your backup sensor, all of the data collected for the backup sensor will appear in your project.

If you have determined that you need to switch a primary sensor to a backup sensor, which is attached to the HTC device, perhaps by using the HardTrack Diagnostic Tool

This example of what you can see using the HardTrack Diagnostics Tool:

These are the steps involved to switch a single sensor on a Project:

1) Open the Project in HardTrack Desktop

2) Add the same device to the project that is already in use on your Project.

3) Delete the extra sensors that you do not need.  If you hold down the Ctrl key and single click on the sensors that you wish to delete, you can select all of them and then click Sensors, Delete Sensor:

4) Double click on the backup Sensor that you would like to use and update the Location and Concrete Type

Make sure that you click Save

4) Start Logging on the backup Sensor, so that the HardTrack Cloud Sensor begins reporting the backup sensor for you.

5) Delete the primary sensor from the Project.
Note: You can wait to perform this step, until after you have the opportunity to view your project with both the Primary and Backup sensors included in your Project.  Click the Dashboard or Summary button

6) Save the Project.

Note: Don't worry, if you make a mistake and delete the wrong sensor, you can add it back and restart logging again.  None of your data will be deleted.
